Lost Treasure

preached by Rev. Robert DeZee

Today's message come from the Matt 10:29-31

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? and not one of them shall fall on the ground without your Father:  but the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

There are some of you out there today that may have suffered a tradegy in your life, and don't know what to do next. There some out there may have lost their spouse, a job, or your home has been foreclosed on. Yet you have walked with God in the past, but don't know what to do now. Then there are those that haven't yet experienced God's love, and question whether it is real or not. This message has been designed for you. Today's message is Lost Treasure. According to the dictionary there are several definitions of the word lost. One says lost means to no longer be found, while another definition for lost means ending in defeat. The one we are focusing on today says the word lost means to have gone astray. Over the course of time, many people have and will come to know Jesus and many will fall away. The Bible says that in the end times there will come a great falling away. These are people that have seen and known the power that is in the name of Jesus, but their faith has been shattered. They are now lost. Maybe it was by the talk of a divorce, that they prayed so that it would not occur, but the marriage still ended. Or maybe a circumstance that is surrounding them and they don't understand why it is happening to them. The adversary is working overtime these days because he knows that his time is running out. He is busy lying to people teling them that God does not care anymore for them, and they should do what they want to do. People will say, "I don't think God wants to help", he hasn't answered a single prayer. God still answers prayers, but in his own season. We want God to give us the answer right then, we don't have the patience to wait. So, God lets us walk away, because he has given us our own free will. God is standing in a lot of places right now, because so many of you left the faith due to the tradegy you endured. Not realizing that it was the grace of God that help you get through it. You have lost your first love. But my friend God has never stopped loving you, and never will.

The Bible declares in the book of John that God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Many people often ask, "why did God give up his son?" The next verse answers that question; For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

It is the Lord's desire to see everyone saved from the laws of sin, and have eternal life. The devil does not want you to hear and understand the truth in God's word. The Bible says that at the moment the word of God is given, the devil comes to steal that word away, that was planted, before it can take root. The devil knows, if it ever takes root, he is in trouble. But he will try to pervert everything he can to win as many to his cause as he can. But the thing to remember and realize is, the devil has an ending point, his time is drawing to an end. Why would anyone, if they know what the Bible says, why would they want to serve someone or something that has a definite end. God on the other hand has no ending point, he is from ever-lasting to ever-lasting, ever-lasting.

The Bible tells us that in the beginning God created. The devil had nothing to do with it. God made the heavens and the earth and all that are in them, and on the sixth day he created man and woman to care for the earth and commune with God. God had each one of us in mind, before the world was created. The Bible tells us that God was pleased with all that he created, because he saw that it was good. We are part of that creation and he is pleased. God made us in his own image, and since he is not in bad shape, he does not see us that way. Most times, the sickness or infirmity we have is brought on by a thing called generational curse. People say, It happened with so-and-so, and I'm the next in line, so I got it. People speak it out, not understanding that the bible says, whatsoever a man speaks, so he is. We need to understand, we have the power of life and death in our tongues.

In God's eyes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and by his stripes we are healed. It is up to us if we accept it and confess it. Since Jobs day, the devil has been allowed to come against the body, but God always gives us a way of escape from that situation. Now because of the situation or circumstance we are going through, does not mean God has left us alone. The Lord declared in the Old Testament book of Joshua that “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

If at times you feel worthless or of little value, remember that God made you for a good reason. That reason will be revealed to you when God gets ready to do it. You can't rush God. You may think that God has forgotten you or does not care for you like he used to, but be assured that his love does not end. God proves that all through his word. If you say you believe in God, then believe in his word. When God says he is your healer, then he is. That is what everyone needs to confess to God that he is. God cares for each one of us, and loves us so much. We are priceless in his sight. The dictionary says that word treasure means any thing or person greatly valued or highly prized. We are His treasure. We are his children, and we are the apple of His eye.

Ladies and gentlemen as today's text declares in Matthew the Almighty God has his eyes on the sparrow. He sees each being of his creation and takes note of them when they fall. But he said, you are of more value then they are. You are a special gem in the eyes of the Lord. God cares for you so much that even the very hairs on your head are numbered.

He said "fear not" you are valueable to him. You are a highly prized treasure. God cares for you, he loves you and loved you enough to allow Jesus to die on a cross to prove it. God has not forgotten about you, that is why he has people like us come in to you and bring the word of life. To encourage and strengthen you and let you know you are his lost treasure. He has been on a quest your whole life trying to get to see you are a special gem to Him.

Ladies and Gentlemen the Bible declare in the book of Hebrew 13:8 that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and for ever.

God never changes, never has, never will. This means that everything about him is unchangeable. God will not lift you up to let you fall. But we do have our own will. That is a gift he has given and he says that it is up to us how we use it. If you choose to follow him, he is happy. If you choose to wait, he is patient (but just don't wait too long, because the time is running out). God will still love mankind up to the time, but not after, when he says "depart from me, I know you not". God wants you to be with him, where there is eternal peace and comfort. God owns everything and he wants you to have all that he has to offer, and if you have received Jesus as you personal Savior, you have become his child. He calls you heir to his kingdom and joint-heirs with Christ. So everything Christ has, you have. This is saying that he cares more for you than you could ever imagine. Are you one of the Lord's lost treasures?

Today what keeps you from realizing you are the Lord's prized treasure, and confessing Jesus Christ as your savior? Is it fear? Is it your pride? Have you fallen away from him, and fear he won't accept you again? All that you need to understand today is that Jesus loves you and died for you. You are not here by accident You may have come to worship with us to just see what this would be all about. You thought you were coming here out of curiousity, but you are at a divine crossroads where Jesus is ready to step into your life. He wants to bring you into His royal family, and show everyone that you are His lost treasure. If you don't know if you will go to heaven or if you have a relationship with Jesus Christ then please pray with me. I am not asking that you join a church or that you leave the church you already belong to. The bibles says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation I am simply asking if you want to have a greater relationship with God, then please pray with me. Repeat after me:

Dear God, I have made mistakes and I confess that I have sinned. I believe that Jesus paid the price for my sins, and shed His Blood for me. I invite you, Jesus into my heart and my life to be my Savior in Jesus' name. Amen

For those of you that have prayed that prayer with me I would like to welcome you into the family of God. Before we leave today we will be available to anyone who feels the need for prayer.

As we close, let me remind you that God loves you, and so do we. May the blessings of the Lord be with you, until we meet again.
